What are corrugated metal hoses
A corrugated metal hose is produced by hydraulically forming a smooth, longitudinally welded stainless steel tube. Thanks to its corrugations it carries liquids and gases under pressure, at high or cryogenic temperatures, while remaining flexible.
An unbraided hose tends to elongate under higher pressure. A stainless steel wire braid is therefore placed over it to prevent axial expansion and raise the permissible pressure. For even higher pressures two or three braid layers are used.
Fittings are welded to the hose ends: flanges, threaded fittings or weld-on ends of stainless or carbon steel, cast iron or non-ferrous metals.

Corrugated hose with normal, uncompressed parallel corrugations, DN 6 – DN 150.
